The Day at Lakeside Lodge. Early birds love the sunrises on the patio.

Lakeside Lodge serves breakfast as the main meal of the day between 8:30 – 9 am. Coffee is on by 8 am or earier if requested. See our ‘Breakfast’ page for details.

 

What to do for the ‘Worn & Weary’

  • Nothing. Just sit and enjoy our beautiful new patio and dock all day and night. The view is great and the stars are beautiful.

  • What to bring: A book, binoculars, camera, and water shoes, swimwear, sunscreen, beach towels.

  • When the lake is low it is fun to hike around the shoreline.

  • When the lake is full it is fun to swim around the shoreline.

  • Lakeside Lodge has a small selection of floats for rent.

 

 

What to do for the ‘I still have energy’

 

Day trips from Lakeside Lodge

  • Drive 4 miles to the 940-acre Canyon of the Eagles Nature Park, where you can hike the numerous trails, have lunch or dinner in the Canyon Room Restaurant. Call or stop by for reservations.             http://www.canyonoftheeagles.com/burnet-hotel-restaurant

  • Drive 3 miles to the Vanishing Texas River Cruise where you board the boat for a 2 1/2 hour cruise to see flora & fauna. The river cruise also rents kayaks, and has a fishing party boat for rent. www.vtrc.com

  • Drive 15 miles to Burnet. Visit the historic Fort Croghan Pioneer Museum www.fortcroghan.org 

  • Fort Croghan has 2 yearly events that are not to be missed. Pioneer Days in October and Pioneer Christmas in early December.

  • Stroll the historic square and shop for antiques and other unique shopping. There are so many wonderful antique shops and interesting stores for you to enjoy in Burnet. Finds of All Kinds is a great place to visit. http://findsofallkinds.net/

  • Drive 3 miles south of Burnet on Hwy 29 is the Confederate Air Museum located at the Kate Craddock Municipal Airport. You can even take ride in an old war plane.           http://hlscaf.sharepoint.com/Pages/Rides.aspx

  • Every year there is the Bluebonnet Air Show at the airport. It is a fantastic show and not to be missed. You can visit their website and Facebook pages for all the information.  https://www.facebook.com/bluebonnetairshow

  • Across from the airport is the new YMCA with 2 pools and great workout equipment  http://ymcagwc.org/burnet/

  • Also in the immediate neighborhood is Delaware Springs Municipal Golf Course. www.delawaresprings.com

  • On scenic Park Road 4 you’ll find The Longhorn Caverns, approximately 26 miles, they have daily tours and occasional evening music concerts in the cave.   • The Texas Hill Country is Winery heaven. www.TexasWineTrail.com or just drive to the other side of Lake Buchanan and visit the famous Fall Creek Vineyards. Check for fun events throughout the year at www.fcv.com
